Volunteer With Us

At Grounded with Nature, volunteering is about showing up with care, patience, and respect, for the animals, the land, and one another.

Our sanctuary is home to animals with different histories, needs, and personalities. Because of this, volunteer opportunities are intentional and based on what is best for the animals at any given time.

What Volunteering Looks Like Here

Volunteer needs vary throughout the year and may include:

  • Assisting with animal care under guidance
  • Property projects such as fencing, maintenance, or seasonal clean-up
  • Event support and behind-the-scenes help
  • Special projects as needs arise

Some roles are hands-on, while others support the sanctuary in quieter but equally important ways.

What Volunteering Is Not

To keep the sanctuary safe and peaceful for the animals, volunteering at Grounded with Nature is not:

  • A drop-in or unscheduled activity
  • A petting zoo or casual animal experience
  • A place to interact freely with animals without guidance
  • An opportunity to “fix” or train animals without permission
  • A substitute for professional therapy or counseling
  • Guaranteed hands-on animal time on every visit

Animal needs, safety protocols, and daily care priorities always come first. Some volunteer roles focus on behind-the-scenes support rather than direct animal interaction, and that support is just as valuable.
